Restoring Native Habitat

Healthy native habitats support every part of a resilient ecosystem. Blue Ridge Biodiversity Conservancy supports restoration efforts that strengthen the natural communities native birds, rare plants, pollinators, and other wildlife depend on. We are building partnerships with landowners and conservation experts to encourage native species, responsible stewardship, and habitat-appropriate restoration practices.

Native Plants as the Foundation

Restoration begins with understanding what belongs in a particular place. We prioritize locally appropriate native plants that provide food, shelter, nesting materials, and seasonal resources for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Site-specific decisions should reflect existing conditions, surrounding habitats, and the long-term needs of native species.
